The insulation ripple spring sheet is a specialized thermosetting laminated corrugated sheet designed for large generator slots in electrical insulation applications. It is corrugated model of epoxy-modified polyimide glass cloth laminates.

Materials and Techniques

The insulation ripple spring sheet is made of alkali-free glass fiber cloth treated with a coupling agent, impregnated with epoxy-modified polyimide resin, and thermally pressed into corrugated shape in a specialized mold after drying. It features H-class insulation (heat resistance temperature index 180°C), combining excellent electrical insulation, heat aging resistance, and compression rebound performance. This material is ideal for long-term operation in generator stator/rotor slots, where it withstands both temperature and mechanical stress.

Main application

The core application involves fixing and insulating stator coil slots in generators. By utilizing the elasticity of corrugated compensating coils, it effectively reduces clearance between the coils and core slot walls, preventing insulation wear, loosening, or discharge caused by operational vibrations. Additionally, this technology provides critical insulation support and buffering for high-voltage motors and transformers, with extensive applications in large-scale power generation equipment such as nuclear, thermal, and hydroelectric power plants.
