Why Using G10 Instead of Glass-Filled Nylon?

When it comes to choosing high-performance composite materials, many enterprises face a critical decision: glass-filled nylon or G10? While glass-filled nylon has long been a common choice for its basic strength, more and more forward-thinking manufacturers are switching to G10—and for good reason: G10 doesn’t just match glass-filled nylon in performance; it saves money at every stage of the product lifecycle.

The cost advantage of G10 lies in its raw material efficiency. G10 is a high-pressure fiberglass laminate made by stacking layers of glass cloth impregnated with epoxy resin, then curing under heat and pressure—a process that creates a dense, high-strength material without unnecessary bulk. For example, if you’re manufacturing 10,000 precision components, the reduced material volume of G10 can cut your raw material expenses by 30-40% compared to glass-filled nylon—a difference that adds up quickly for large-scale operations.

Additionally, G10’s raw materials (glass cloth and epoxy resin) are more cost-effective than the specialized formulations required for glass-filled nylon, which often include premium additives to improve its mechanical properties.
