Non-asbestos sheet (also called asbestos-free sheet) is made by using high-modulus nitrile rubber (NBR) as the binder and selecting organic aramid fibers, inorganic mineral fibers, and other fibers as the framework, and formed through high-temperature roller pressing. It exhibits excellent oil resistance, good tensile strength, and air tightness.

Composition of non-asbestos sheet

Non-asbestos sheets compose of fiber material, rubber and other fillers.

The commonly used fiber is glass fibers, which possess high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and high strength. Basalt fibers, another common material, are natural mineral fibers with performance similar to glass fibers and environmentally friendly properties. Carbon fibers, which offer extremely high strength and stiffness but come at a higher cost. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fibers, a synthetic fiber with good chemical and water resistance.

Natural or synthetic rubber is used to enhance the flexibility, elasticity, and sealing performance of the sheet, enabling it to better adapt to various usage environments and sealing requirements.

Other filler materials such as calcium carbonate, talc, and kaolin will be added to improve the sheet's processing performance, reduce costs, and enhance physical properties like hardness and wear resistance to some extent.

Characteristics of non-asbestos sheet

● Eco-Friendly and Non-Toxic:Completely free of asbestos, it does not release asbestos fibers, eliminating serious health hazards such as lung cancer and dermatosis caused by asbestos exposure.

● High Strength and High-Temperature Resistance: Composed of high-strength aramid fibers, high-temperature-resistant rubber, specialized heat-resistant fibers, and glass fibers, it maintains stable performance under high temperatures and withstands high pressure and mechanical stress.

● Good Chemical Stability: Exhibits oil and corrosion resistance, remaining chemically stable in various media, making it suitable for applications in corrosive liquids and gases.

● Easy to Process: Can be stamped, sheared, or cut using molds or other processing tools, allowing for the production of various shapes and sizes to meet diverse industrial and equipment needs.

● Excellent Fire Resistance: Generally features Class A fire resistance, delaying flame spread during fires and providing time for evacuation and firefighting, far outperforming ordinary gypsum and wooden boards.

● Long Service Life: Stable material structure resists moisture, decay, and rust, maintaining performance over long periods under normal conditions, reducing replacement and maintenance costs.

● Soundproofing, Thermal Insulation, and Wear Resistance

Application Fields

Industrial Sealing:Used in oil, chemical, power, metallurgy, and shipbuilding industries for sealing pipes, valves, pumps, and heat exchangers to prevent fluid leakage and ensure equipment operation.

Construction Industry: Serves as indoor/outdoor wall decoration, ceiling, and partition materials, providing fireproofing, moisture resistance, soundproofing, and thermal insulation to enhance building safety and comfort.

Automotive Manufacturing: Used for sealing gaskets in engines, transmissions, and clutches, as well as thermal and sound insulation in car bodies, improving vehicle performance and reliability.

Electronics and Electrical Appliances: Acts as insulation, thermal barrier, and sealing material for electronic devices, protecting components from environmental impacts and enhancing stability and lifespan.

Food and Pharmaceutical Industries: Due to its purity and safety, it is suitable for sealing and protecting production equipment and storage containers, ensuring no contamination of products.

The greatest advantage of non-asbestos sheets attributes to their environmental friendliness and safety.Traditional asbestos sheets are carcinogenic, posing severe risks to human health and the environment. In contrast, asbestos-free sheets eliminate these hazards, aligning with modern environmental and health standards.
